The National Kitchen & Bath Association (“NKBA”) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its Web site. We want members to be assured that information provided online is used responsibly and appropriately. In order to protect online privacy, NKBA has implemented the following policy.
What Information Does NKBA Collect? It is our general policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. If our privacy policies change, we will notify all users by e-mail or a special announcement placed on the Web site.

Aggregate data are only used for internal and marketing purposes and do not provide any personally identifying information.
From NKBA’s Members, Conference, Learning, KBIS Registrants, and Other Customers. To gain access to members-only resources and personalization features on NKBA.org, members and other users are asked to register and provide some limited information. This information is submitted voluntarily. NKBA may ask users to provide their name, member number (for members), organization or business name, business phone, and e-mail. Similar information may be submitted to NKBA through membership applications, online surveys, job service postings, conference or show registrations, publication orders, subscriptions, contest registrations, etc. Information we collect may be used to notify visitors about updates to our Web site and may be used by NKBA to contact visitors for marketing purposes. Additionally, for some e-mails and electronic newsletters sent in HTML format by NKBA to its members and visitors, we will collect specific information regarding what the recipient does with that email. For those emails, NKBA will monitor whether a recipient subsequently clicks through to links provided in the message. Other information collected through this tracking feature includes: email address of a user, the date and time of the user's "click," a message number, name of the list from which the message was sent, tracking URL number and destination page. NKBA only uses this information to enhance its products and distribution of those products to its members. This information is not sold or distributed in any other manner.
As part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all registered users of the NKBA site may make any changes to their information at any time by logging into their account and going to the 'Edit Profile' page.
How Does NKBA Use Data Collected? NKBA use information voluntarily submitted by members and other customers in the following ways:
NKBA Member Services and Products. Generally, NKBA and its Chapters use data collected to improve its own web content; to respond to visitors' interests, needs and preferences; and to develop new products and services. We also send NKBA-related material by mail, e-mail or otherwise to its Web site users and distribute time-sensitive information such as Legislative Alerts or news flashes via e-mail.
Sweepstakes and Online Contests. On occasion, we may conduct sweepstakes and contests online that entitle the winners to prizes. Each sweepstakes or online contest has its own terms and conditions. Some sweepstakes and online contests require you to choose to enter and for others you will be entered automatically if certain elements described in the sweepstakes or online contest terms and conditions are met (e.g., joining the NKBA). You will be informed before a transaction is executed if it will result in an automatic entry into the sweepstakes. As part of entering a sweepstakes or online contest, certain personally identifiable information such as name and email address will be required, or member generated content may be required. We may use this information in accordance with the sweepstakes or online contest’s terms and conditions and to send future communications about specials and offers. As stated in the email section of this privacy statement, every time you receive a marketing email you will be provided the choice to opt-out of future marketing emails by following the instructions provided in the email.
Disclosures to Third Parties. NKBA also makes member contact information available through the NKBA Membership Directory to other members and visitors using its Web site and to those who register for its conferences, learning programs and shows. On occasion, NKBA may also provide limited data to third parties that offer products and services that NKBA believes its Web site users and members will find of value. These limited data include names, job titles, companies and business addresses, but do not include business phone numbers, business fax numbers or e-mail addresses. Users may request NKBA refrain from disclosing the data it collects to third parties on the membership application form, conference registration form or any other form on which they are providing information; an opt-out box will appear on each form on which a user provides information. Alternatively, users may contact NKBA at email@example.com or 800-852-1695 to express their preferences if they determine later that they do not wish to have the information shared.
Privacy with Respect to Minors. We do not knowingly collect or use information from children under the age of 13 without the consent of a parent or guardian.
Credit Card Account Information. NKBA does not disclose credit card account information provided by its members and customers. When members and customers choose to pay using their credit cards, NKBA submits the information needed to obtain payment to the appropriate clearinghouse.
