These $50 local winners advanced to the national level competition, where they competed for the top spots amongst the 73 designers.
The top designers integrated GE Monogram series appliances which feature commercial grade innovative solutions for the kitchen into the design for their clients. Their clients were a semi-retired airline pilot, Bill and his wife, Megan. The couple, who often cook together in the kitchen, required seating for 6 and a television in the large 22.5 x 13.1 kitchen adhering to the NKBA Planning Guidelines and proper NKBA Graphic and Presentation Standards. The winning designers successfully incorporated these elements into their creation along with special features that wowed the judges, all within the three hour time allotment. Watch out for these special designers to be highly successful in the kitchen and bath industry and the NKBA certification exams in the near future!
The Association would like to thank GE for sponsoring this annual challenge that awards students over $25,000 in scholarship for the fourth year in a row and looks forward to continuing this philanthropic endeavor for many years to come.
