2008 NKBA/GE Charette
For the third year in a row, General Electric (GE) is awarding more than $25,000 in scholarships to NKBA Supported/Accredited Students who have demonstrated excellence in the 2007 Charette Design Competition.
This year's winners were challenged to create a kitchen floorplan and one additional drawing (either a perspective or elevation) that best depict the GE featured appliances within the three-hour allotted time period.
Students that were winners at the local competition, each received $50 scholarships. Their winning designs were entered into the national competition for additional scholarship awards.
Congratulations to the following winners of the national competition:
- 1st place - $5,000 prize- Pamela Ollenberger, Lakeland College
- 2nd place - $4,000 prize-Naoyuki Takeda, University of Nebraska - Kearney
- 3rd place - $3,000 prize- Elizabeth Eames, Weber State University
- 4th place - $2,500 prize- Erica Nowicki, Baker College of Clinton Twp.
- 5th place - $2,000 prize- Jennifer Nielson, University of Nebraska - Kearney
Honorable Mentions - $1,000 each-
