NKBA Student Chapters

To form a NKBA student chapter, the program coordinator must set up a meeting with the local NKBA chapter's Vice President of Accredited Programs and three or more students currently enrolled in the program. This will be the formation committee and the meeting will determine the support for forming a student chapter.

The initial meeting of the student chapter is held with all of the students registered in the program, along with the program coordinator and the chapter Vice President of Accredited Programs. Assuming there is support for the formation, those attending will elect the Student Chapter President, Vice President of Programs, Secretary, and Treasurer. All officers must be student members of the NKBA.

The student chapter executive committee next submits notification of the student chapter formation to NKBA headquarters, along with names and contact information of the student chapter executive committee. The Accredited Program Coordinator is the primary liaison between the student chapter and the NKBA, and all mailed materials will be sent to this person.

Upon receipt of the notification of the student chapter formation, a grant of $500 will be sent to the Accredited Program Coordinator to support the activities of the NKBA student chapter for networking and educational/professional development activities.
