The National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) released the Kitchen & Bath Market Report for the first quarter. Results conveyed that showroom traffic, which is traditionally up and down from quarter to quarter, rose 8% in the first quarter of the year to 24 consumers visiting the average kitchen and bath showroom in March. While this remains 13% down from a year ago, Q1 of 2011 was a particularly standout quarter. This quarter’s figure is the second-highest mark over the past two years.

The National Kitchen & Bath Association today announced the ten winners of the 2011/2012 NKBA Student Design Competition, which offers more than $10,000 in scholarships and prizes. The winners will be awarded at the NKBA Design Competition Awards event on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) held at Chicago’s McCormick Place This prominent industry event will also recognize the professional designers who created the best kitchens and baths of the past year. The event is an exclusive event available only to the press, top designers, and select industry insiders.

For the seventh consecutive year, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) and GE Appliances are proud to announce the winners of the NKBA/GE Charette Competition, which awards students more than $20,000 in scholarships. The competition recognizes students who demonstrate advanced skill in kitchen design by planning a safe, functional kitchen within a three-hour period.
