City of Chicago - Environmental Initiatives

ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability
ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability is an international association of local governments and national and regional local government organizations that have made a commitment to sustainable development. More than 700 cities, towns, counties, and their associations worldwide comprise ICLEI's growing membership. ICLEI works with these local governments through international performance-based, results-oriented campaigns and programs.

Sierra Club
Sierra Club's members and supporters are more than 1.3 million strong. Inspired by nature, this group works together to protect communities and the planet. The Club is America's oldest, largest, and most influential grassroots environmental organization.

U.S. Department of Energy - Building America Program
Building America is a private/public partnership that develops energy solutions for new and existing homes. The Building America project combines the knowledge and resources of industry leaders with the U.S. Department of Energy's technical capabilities. Together, they act as a catalyst for change in the home-building industry.

U.S. Department of Energy - Energy Star
Energy Star is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy that helps save money and protects the environment through energy-efficient products and practices.

U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
The mission of the Environmental Protection Agency is to protect human health and the environment. Since 1970, the EPA has been working for a cleaner, healthier environment across America.

U.S. General Services Administration
The U.S. General Services Administration leads by example and helps federal agencies meet environmental goals. The GSA is committed to the environment and uses green products and services daily. From purchasing recycled paper and managing office waste, to buying renewable power and managing energy efficient buildings, the GSA uses green solutions to operate efficiently

U.S. Green Building Council & LEED System
The U.S. Green Building Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit community of leaders working to make green buildings accessible to everyone within a generation. The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System encourages and accelerates global adoption of sustainable green building and development practices through the creation and implementation of universally understood and accepted tools and performance criteria.
