Hartford, Wis., February 13, 2008 – Dedicated to positively improving the indoor environment while protecting and preserving the outdoor environment, Broan-NuTone has announced their new ecoforward™ corporate mission that will be integrated into all product development, manufacturing and marketing, according to David Pringle, president and CEO, Broan-NuTone.

For example, Broan® and NuTone® Ultra Silent™ ventilation fans are designed to be installed with a 6-inch duct, as recommended by the American Society of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Standard 62.2. Six-inch ducts move more air, saving energy by reducing the time it takes to clear a room of humidity. Additionally, Broan-NuTone’s next generation motors use up to 61 percent less wattage than some equivalent fans, also saving energy.

Energy Star qualified fans from Broan and NuTone can use less than 10 kilowatt hours per year – or about one dollar per year in electricity. Since ventilation fans play such an integral role in exhausting excess moisture (which can lead to mold and poor IAQ), one dollar per year is a small price to pay for better IAQ, explains Pringle. The majority of Broan-NuTone products manufactured in the USA are used in the USA, which means the carbon footprint required to make products available to homeowners is less than some competitors. In fact, 80 percent of the products produced by Broan- NuTone are manufactured in the USA.

Eco-friendly products are found across the board within Broan-NuTone product lines. NuTone central vacuum systems carry dirt, dust, dust mites, pet dander and other microbes away from living areas.
