Ventilation: Can Too Much Be Bad
The rule of ventilation is: if one cubic foot of air leaves the home it will/should be replaced by another cubic foot of air. You just sold a range hood rated at 800 cfm. As 800 cfm leaves the home you need 800 cfm to enter the home. Would you tell the consumer to open a window while their range hood is operating? What do you think your client would say to that? If you think there should be a better solution you may want to attend this meeting. If you think this is not a big deal, consider the State of Minnesota. If you sell a range hood in Minnesota that is greater that 300 cfm you must provide make-up air. California could be next. What would you recommend to meet this code? This program will give you solutions.
