Dale Carnegie Training will facilitate an interactive experience to equip the members of National Kitchen and Bath Association of Iowa to be more effective at earning more business. We will leverage a format that will enhance the credibility for both the designer and their organization in early conversations with potential clients. We will look at a questioning model that ensures the designers are set up to review the options that are most important to the client. We will also spend some time looking at a structure to utilize when articulating a recommended solution that will tie back to the client's needs and increase their buy-in.

September 25th NKBA Chapter MeetingSeptember 25th NKBA Chapter MeetingThu, Sep 25, 2014 to Thu, Sep 25, 2014

September 25th NKBA Chapter Meeting

We are calling it a Showroom Crawl but you won't have to crawl.  We will shuttle you between the showrooms.

Our tour will begin at the beautifully appointed new showroom of Cabinets by Design with owner Peggy Triggs - CKD, CAPS. You will leave your vehicle there and we will shuttle you over to the Des Moines showrooms of Factory Direct Appliance where host, Gene Buttrey will lead us on a tour of the appliance showroom.  They offer over 30 brands of household appliances.  Then it is on to the Ferguson showroom.  Ferguson is the largest wholesale distributor of residential plumbing supplies in the U.S.  In April 2014, it was announced that Ferguson purchased Factory Direct Appliance.  Our tour of the Ferguson showroom will be lead by Erin Matzen.  The Ferguson company has a national membership in NKBA.
At the end of the Ferguson tour you will be returned to your vehicles.  Guests are welcome. Light appetizers and beverages will be offered at each showroom.

Meeting Fee is $25.00.  Pay at the door.

2014 Membership Drive2014 Membership DriveMon, Sep 8, 2014 to Mon, Sep 8, 2014

Our annual membership drive is underway for the month of September!

Last year the National Kitchen & Bath Association celebrated its 50th Anniversary! As the association moves forward into its second half century there is a greater focus on the areas of education for members and on building consumer awareness. However, if you heard NKBA’s 2013 president, John Morgan speak at our April chapter meeting you know he definitely places great value on the rich friendships and networking that has come with his participation in the NKBA.

The strength of our chapter and the national organization depends on its members. As you receive this letter we are approximately 1/3 of the way through our membership drive.  To challenge you, our chapter president Jeani Lee has offered a padfolio to any current member who brings a new member into the chapter after bringing them as a guest to the September 25th meeting.

As you think about who to approach for membership, look not only to K & B designers but also consider dealers, builders/remodelers, cabinet shops, designer plumbing and hardware showrooms, distributors, reps, manufacturers, and multi-branch retailers.  Describe the chapter meetings you have attended, professional certifications available to NKBA members, educational courses, consumer leads, member discounts, marketing tools, job listings, and leadership opportunities as reasons to become a member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association.  You can also direct them to the website www.NKBA.org.

Our Showroom Crawl meeting is an excellent opportunity to bring a potential new member as a guest and let them see what the organization has to offer.  You won’t have to pay their meeting fee, the chapter will cover that as long as the guest is a potential member and working in one of the industry segments mentioned above.
