Working with the DIYer as a Design Professional

Working with the DIYer
The demographics of business and the buyer have changed. In a culture where You-Tube has replaced the instruction manual that comes with a product and home improvement shows demonstrate how it’s done in another universe where reality and time are bent; how do you meet your customers’ expectations and sell professional design and installation services?

As a design professional you need to adapt your business model to remain profitable when working with the Do-It-Yourselfer. This presentation will provide you with tips on educating your client on the value of the services you provide, help you and your customer set up realistic expectations for getting the project finished, and remaining professional while navigating the inevitable crisis that comes with working with the DIYer.
