Jim Scott has had a successful career in the kitchen and bath industry, retiring from Elkay in 2008 as president of the plumbing products division. He has a proven track record in general management, innovation and change.

Jim likes to discover what gives life to an organization.  He has helped other dream about a rewarding future and then design the systems to achieve that dream.

Since retiring from Elkay, Jim has been a consultant to small business and is active in education as Board President for a Chicago charter school.

The 2011 student competition asks aspiring designers to renovate a 19th century Federal Style Row House according to the needs of their clients, Michael and Jolene Matthews and Thor, an Alaskan Malamute.  The Matthews family desires a transitional style with accessories and colors to reflect the old world charm of the row house.


Come to see the talents of our future designers as the Student Design Competition awards are presented.

Professional photographer, Wilbur Montgomery, will discuss:

Professional photographer, Wilbur Montgomery, will discuss:
  • When and why a professional photographer should be used to photograph your finished work
  • How to find a professional photographer and how to work with them
  • Estimating costs for photography
  • Procedures for usage rights of final photographs
Wilbur Montgomery, a native of Indianapolis, IN, attended Ball State University and received his BS in Advertising Art and Photography.  He began his career working as a staff member for the College of Architecture and Planning and then as a teaching assistant at the Art Institute of Chicago.

In 1980, Wilbur opened the Indianapolis-based photo studio, WM Photographic Services, Inc.  WM Photo has served local, national and international businesses with both corporate and advertising imagery.  Photo-illustration has been of particular interest throughout Wilbur's career.  Using his digital photography as a starting point, he produces individual interpretations of images to create unique, custom prints that are produced with museum quality archival inkjet printing.
