Hall of Fame Inductee Nomination
Each year, the NKBA looks to recognize those professionals who have played crucial roles in the development of our industry by inducting them into the Kitchen & Bath Industry Hall of Fame. From the inventor of the microwave oven to the originator of solid surface materials, the finest members of our industry are recognized by the Hall of Fame. As a voting member of the NKBA, you have the power to nominate someone you believe has made a key difference in our industry.
To nominate a professional for the Kitchen & Bath Industry Hall of Fame, simply email nominations@nkba.org with the name of the individual whom you'd like to nominate, along with a description of that person's industry contributions.
Eligibility & Basic Criteria
Hall of Fame nominees should be living individuals who have contributed dramatically to the growth and professionalism of the kitchen and bath industry. Hall of Fame nominees do not need to be past or present NKBA members to qualify for consideration.
Please note that all nominees submitted during the past two years will be reconsidered automatically. If you nominated an industry professional more than three years ago who was not selected, we encourage you to re-nominate that person at this time.
Evaluation Guidelines
- Each selection is based on the merit of the nominee, not by the number of nominations.
- Nomination entries submitted by groups (chapters, advisory councils, etc.) will be considered as one nomination.
- Only nominations made by NKBA voting members will be considered; nominations from any member of a nominees' immediate family will not be accepted.
- The Hall of Fame Committee will review and complete an evaluation form for each candidate.
Judging
During the first week of August, nominations are sent to the Hall of Fame Committee. These individuals review all nominations made within three years, including new nominations for discussion.
In late summer, the committee will review all eligible nominations. The committee is not require to recommend any nominees and may recommend up to three candidates to the Board. The Board of Directors will be presented with the Hall of Fame Committee's recommendations during the annual fall board meeting.
Appreciation
The NKBA maintains a photo gallery of all Hall of Fame members at its headquarters. In addition, inductees will receive national recognition on NKBA.org, in the NKBA's quarterly magazine, NKBA Magazine, and at the annual kick-off at KBIS.
Following the notification to the Board of Directors, letters of congratulations are mailed to the inductees. An acknowledgement notice is sent to the members who submitted the nomination form for the new inductees. Should your nominee not be chosen for induction, the NKBA will send you a letter indicating that the nominee will automatically be resubmitted for consideration for the next two years.
